Neil Smith knows first-hand what it costs men to stay silent: in his 20s he battled depression for the best part of a decade without telling a soul. He went on to reach the top of British television, running and growing some of the UK's biggest production companies, then walked away to make sure other men don't suffer the way he did.

Together with adventurer Bear Grylls, he co-founded Mettle, the men's mental fitness app built with Imperial College London and backed by names including Paul McKenna and Dr Alex George. Mettle gives men who'd never set foot in a therapist's office a digital front door: a few minutes a day of practical, science-backed tools, plus a community that has changed, and saved, lives.

Now Neil's on a mission to reach millions of men across the UK, the US and beyond.

When he's not building Mettle, you'll find him with his family, travelling or on a padel court.
