🎉Celebrating a Decade of Real Men Feel: What Men Need to Know
Hello, friends, and welcome to a very special piece celebrating a milestone for “Real Men Feel.” It has been an incredible decade since the launch of the podcast back on February 23, 2016, on a now-defunct platform called Blab. Little did we know then that this venture would evolve into a significant conversation space for men everywhere. Men needed a place where they could openly talk about their feelings—joy, grief, fear, shame, and hope—beyond the conventional expressions of anger and success. Thanks to everyone involved, from guests and listeners to supporters and co-founder Appio Hunter, for being part of this journey.

The Evolution of Real Men Feel

In honor of this milestone, we celebrate by revisiting key moments from the podcast’s history. From our very first episode to our 100th, you’ll hear how the show has evolved and how I’ve changed alongside it. Real Men Feel began as a voice for men to express their emotions and remains steadfast in that mission today.

The Beginning: Real Vision and Personal Growth

Our journey started with challenging societal norms about masculinity and striving to create a space for authentic expression. Inspired by personal growth and spiritual experiences, I launched initiatives like men-only workshops and support groups. In partnership with Appio Hunter, who brought his talents as a spiritual guide and emotion emancipator, we laid down the foundation for what became a platform inviting men to explore who they are.

A Decade of Conversations: Insights Gleaned

Over the years, numerous guests have shared their insights on what men need to know:
  1. Vulnerability as Strength: Embracing our vulnerabilities can be empowering. Talking and expressing emotions is not a weakness but a strength.
  2. Finding Belonging: Join clubs, groups, or activities that resonate with you. Belonging to a tribe, whether through sports or men’s groups, can make a difference.
  3. Partnership as Growth: In romantic partnerships, we can find a portal to our highest selves. Honest communication and empathy are key.
  4. Self-Empowerment: Men are encouraged to break free from limiting beliefs, knowing they can shape their own destinies.
  5. Listening and Empathy: Sometimes, the greatest gift we can offer is our attention. Listening without the desire to fix can enormously impact relationships.
  6. Authentic Expression: Men can stand up for themselves and express needs honestly, letting go of performative masculinity.
